Took my family of 5 camping this weekend. Wife and I slept in a GX on our duo for the first time and we put the kids in the tent! :). Best camping sleep we could have asked for; easily removed from car for day trips as a family; had room to store clothes/fly rods etc underneath; still haven't used as a table yet but eager to test this feature! I have been trying to setup my car for camping for a long time. When I first saw the Hele Box system, I was interested, but skeptical. I’d been disappointed too many times. Still, I wanted a light weight, comfortable bed for my CR-V. This is more than I dreamed of. It’s so easy and quick to put together. It fits perfectly in the space I had planned, and it’s comfortable! Very comfortable. I just leave it in the car, but I could pop it out in minutes if I wanted to. Great product and the personal note on the box was a very nice touch. Love working with quality small businesses.
This bed truly exceeded my expectations and is worth every penny I saved for it. It is solid and comfortable! I appreciate its simple, clean aesthetic, which maximizes storage space underneath for my field supplies. The adjustable legs are incredibly sturdy and function perfectly, allowing me to customize the height to my exact specifications for my camper van. The bed works great with my existing Therm-A-Rest sleeping pad. Whether I'm starfishing or curled up like a croissant, the Hele Bed handles it all with zero mid-sleep squeaks. Even my dog likes it! I want to express my sincere gratitude to Murray and the team at Hele for creating such an outstanding product.
We use the Hele Duo in our Tacoma SR5, Access Cab. It fits perfectly in the bed, with the standard leg height coming just above the wheel wells. The Hele Box is well designed, lightweight, super easy to set up and take down—less than five minutes either way. As you see from the photo, there is room for storage beneath the frame. We use a 3” foam pad and find that is sufficient for comfortable sleeping. Overall, a welcome product—saves a lot of effort and time doing a self-built kit.
