I've been searching for a practical bed option that I could use in both my Prius and my RAM ProMaster City as well as light enough to carry through the airport when I fly and rent a SUV at my destination. I regularly drive to OR and NV to work on vacant land and was looking to fly instead of making those long drives. I previously bought a modular camper box (solo bed) but that bed is 40lbs so not practical to bring on flights and wouldn't fit in most rented SUV. That camper bed only fit in my van. Hoping for a better solution, I kept searching and was delighted to find the Hele Box. This elegant bed solution checked all my requirements. I like that each leg is easily adjustable so I can level my bed instead of needing to level my vehicle, which is ideal for me because I usually arrive late and in low light. The Hele Box fit great in both my Prius and my RAM ProMaster City and I'm looking forward to flying with my Hele Box =o). Thank you so much for a creative product and I wish you great success.
First of all, absolutely happy with the Hele platform, very well crafted from solid materials. Assembled it indoor with the purchased pad, and tested for comfort. Given I napped for about 15 minutes tells me this will work well. Ordered the shortening kit which enabled it to fit perfectly in a GMC Terrain, and without having to move the passenger seat forward more than an inch or so.
I struggled for years trying to put a bed in my vehicle for camping. All had problems and were too heavy! This is light, storable, and I love the adjustable legs! My floor in my van is different heights though out. I also love the bag it comes with for organizing gear, slides right under. Great product ❣️
Exactly what I needed for my CRV. I end up removing the wider of the two rear seats (very easy 4 bolts removal) and set the Solo box lower on stubbies. The individually adjustable legs feature came into full use last weekend when I could not find a flat area to park. Nice to have a level sleeping platform.
I was excited to find the Hele Box Solo as a possible solution in my 3 year search for a “ no build “ sleeping platform. I had made several attempts myself to build something - all were unstable failures . However , I hesitated because it was a bit too long . I have used up space in rear of minivan creating a “ galley.” It functions well and I didn’t want to give it up .
Enter the Shortening Kit. Once Murray let me know about it , I was ready to order . I’ve tried it out and this modification makes the bed a perfect fit in my space . There is still plenty storage space under bed . The bag has been quite useful storing gear and easily accessed .
I’m a petite woman and this size is exactly what I had been looking for. I’m only sorry I didn’t find it before I wasted time & money on my failed attempts. Leave it to
