This shortening kit takes no extra time to install and reduces the Hele Box Sleeping Platform's length from 6ft (72 inches) to 5'6 (66 inches).
Perfect for smaller SUVs - or - if you don't need the full 6ft length that comes with every Hele Box Sleeping Platform. Compatible with all versions/models of the Hele Box.
Included in the kit are 2 connection poles you'll use in place of the longer connection poles found in your Hele Box.

Have not slept on the bed but have been resting and relaxing in between appointments and errands. Fits with the shortening kit and second row seat pulled forward in Sienna. Customer service very helpful for assembly and pad questions.
I've been searching for a practical bed option that I could use in both my Prius and my RAM ProMaster City as well as light enough to carry through the airport when I fly and rent a SUV at my destination. I regularly drive to OR and NV to work on vacant land and was looking to fly instead of making those long drives. I previously bought a modular camper box (solo bed) but that bed is 40lbs so not practical to bring on flights and wouldn't fit in most rented SUV. That camper bed only fit in my van. Hoping for a better solution, I kept searching and was delighted to find the Hele Box. This elegant bed solution checked all my requirements. I like that each leg is easily adjustable so I can level my bed instead of needing to level my vehicle, which is ideal for me because I usually arrive late and in low light. The Hele Box fit great in both my Prius and my RAM ProMaster City and I'm looking forward to flying with my Hele Box =o). Thank you so much for a creative product and I wish you great success.
First of all, absolutely happy with the Hele platform, very well crafted from solid materials. Assembled it indoor with the purchased pad, and tested for comfort. Given I napped for about 15 minutes tells me this will work well. Ordered the shortening kit which enabled it to fit perfectly in a GMC Terrain, and without having to move the passenger seat forward more than an inch or so.
