Old people car camping

The Helebox is an ingenious design with simple set up. I was able to put it together and make multiple leg adjustments to suit me. I should add here that I’m 70 and have severe hand arthritis but it was doable! I was dubious about how stable the front part would be with one leg on the hump and one in the footwell but after a few tweaks to level it, it is completely secure. I tried it out with my foam pad—it’s perfectly comfortable.

One box solved lots of issues.

Last year I did car sleeping, not camping, as my sister and husband do glamping in a small RV. Three people made it crowded. My seats in my Subaru Outback don't lie flat, I used packing blankets to level from head to foot. There is a gap between the front seats and the back seats, so I used a board for that. I did like having my own space at night. I started researching. I wanted to haul two additional people in the car as we do a shuttle for kayaking and biking. I like being able to sit up in bed, thanks for the subbies. The solo Hele box met all the requirements. I assembled it and have it ready for the first glamping trip, which should be soon.

Kia Soul

I am excited that this worked for my little 2020 Kia Soul! Took a chance after someone said in the reviews it worked for their 2013 Kia Soul. 🥰 I did have to take out the Upper tops of the back seats, but it’s super easy to do and only 1 bolt. I will be doing a small camping trip next week to test it out! And then a 3 week adventure out west to the Four Corners region with my pup in August.

Fits 2005 CRV, Amazing Platform!

The 2nd gen CRVs aren't listed in the compatibility guide but I can confirm that the solo fits perfectly! I didn't even need to remove any of my back seats as the platform is juuuust tall enough to sit over them while folded forward. It also sits above the wheel wells! I paired it with my Exped Megamat MW and it fits nicely. Not a lot of head room, but comfy still! I will say that one of the middle legs kinda sits in the air due to the wheel well, but it honestly makes no difference in the stability.

The platform itself is nicely made and pretty easy to setup, I did it by myself in under 15 minutes. It's also not that heavy! I keep it fully assembled in my garage instead of reassembling it every time I need it, much easier this way. The wooden slats were a tad bit rough but some slight sanding fixed that issue. I really like how stable this platform is. The adjustable legs are amazing especially in cars, like the 2nd gen CRV, that have very uneven flooring. I rolled around on it to see if anything shifted out of place, but it all stayed put no problem! I also love that the storage box is the perfect size to sit underneath the platform. It's so convenient and very sturdy!

I love everything about this platform and it's perfect for no-build car camping. Plus, you're supporting a small business!

Short cars rejoice

The two shorter connecting links for the bed frame really make the short version look finished vs. moving the brackets back on the longer frame links. This works great in my Jeep Cherokee and since it is easy to swap them out quickly, it can be used full size in a tent.
