Elevating your car sleeping platform also ensures you have a level sleeping platform and aren’t digging your back/side/stomach into a seat or headrest when it comes time for shut eye.

Once you are off the ground (thanks to your car sleeping platform) invest in a storage system that fits under your sleeping platform and allows you to compartmentalize your gear from your goodies.
You don’t need anything fancy here. HomeDepot is a great place to find a large assortment of affordable storage totes in a wide range of shapes and sizes.
Organizing your gear will make camping in your car much more efficient - make sure to label your storage containers or color code them to ensure you can easily find what you need.
