Storage System
Storage space is worth it's weight in gold when sleeping in your vehicle.
The Hele Box's carrying case doubles a compartmentalized storage container, fits snug under the sleeping platform, and slides out for easy access to your gear/goodies when camping. It comes with compartment dividers that you can remove or adjust to your needs!
The topper provides additional under/over storage. You can easily unlatch and slide it forward to access gear that's stored under your sleeping platform - or load gear on top of the platform and secure it down using the rails as latch points.
Camping Table
Tired of lugging around that rusty old table? So were we! The Hele Box's sleeping platform is light enough for one person to easily remove, swing around, and use as a gathering area to share old stories and create new memories. You can choose the length of your table by removing one or none of the supports and run it out the back of your tailgate or independently on its own legs.

Our design is lightweight, extremely comfy, and doesn't sacrifice extra headroom.
- 3” thick hybrid of foam/air allows you to adjust the level of firmness
- Top surface is a soft 50D poly fabric and the bottom is equipped with an anti-slip material

FAQ
How does it make a 6ft sleeping platform when my trunk/cargo space is less than that?
If you are using the Hele Box in an SUV, a set of longer adjustable legs are attached to the front of the frame. These legs sit in the footwell of the rear seating and level out the frame with the other 4 shorter legs in the rear of the frame.
What if my cargo space has different heights or isn't completely flat? How will the sleeping platform be flat?
No problem! All 6 legs are independently adjustable allowing you to dial in a flat sleeping platform even if your cargo area isn't. The Hele Box car camping system can straddle over obstacles, seats, and level out even the steepest of slopes. Check our vehicle fitment guide or send us a message and we'd be happy to confirm with you!
If the vehicle isn't listed on your fitment list, does that mean it won't fit?
No! We've tested the Hele Box in more than 50 makes/models/generations of vehicles, but there are SO MANY MORE out there we've yet to test. The Hele Box car camping platform will fit in almost any SUV/truck/van that has 72" of length for the full length of the frame or 66" for the system in "shortie" mode. Does it come with the components needed for a flat space (like a truck bed/van) or do you need an extra set of short legs?
Every Hele Box comes ready to be set up on a flat space/ground (all 6 short legs) or an SUV (4 short legs and 2 long legs for the foot wells). You don't need to buy anything extra :)
Is the packaging/storage system different if I order the pad or not?
Nope! Its the same storage system/packaging.
Do you recommend your pad or my own?
We designed our pad around our sleeping platform pad with an emphasis on comfortability without sacrificing headroom. It's the best fit for the Hele Box!

Headroom looks a little tight, how can I get more space?
We built the Hele Box with a focus on balance between headroom and storage space. If you are looking to prioritize more headroom on your car camping platform, add on a set of stubbies!!
This is an amazing system!! I needed a bed platform, sometimes single sometimes double.
Two singles solves this, also allows me to fold down a backseat and build two singles over the top of the back seat.
Makes for so much needed flexibility. Love it ! I needed to move the center braces but that was super simple. Great new addition to my camping days / nights.
Great product. Well made and functional. Fits well in the Grenadier with the front passenger seat pulled forward (but still useable for average height folks).
I needed the shortening kit. Jeep wrangler 4 door, I’m 5’6”
No shortening kits available so, I sawed off 3” from each of the four end pieces. Tight fit due to having one of the front legs needing to sit in a cup holder and the height is determined by having to clear the center console. I can utilize the front passenger in a normal position, only having to tilt it forward for comfortable headspace.
I can also use the rear driver side seat normally. Still acquiring some items. Having the cot placed allows me to continue with stowing and getting everything tidy.
I've been trying to DIY a sleep area in my Ford Focus hatchback for a while. After I set this up and fully customized the frame / legs, I laid down on it and was so impressed with it's sturdiness and comfortable flat platform, I knew this is what I have been needing and asked myself why I waited so long
I set up the Hele Box in my 2017 Jeep Cherokee and I first used it on a trip to Mono Lake and the Grand Canyon. I did purchase the shorter poles which worked perfectly! I was surprised at the comfort that the mattress gave me and how easy the set up was. I will definitely encourage friends to purchase the Hele Box!
